Tally is accounting software, which is used in many types of industries in the world. Tally software is been made by PETRONIQUES COMPANY INDIA PVT LTD, which is situated in Bangalore.

It has many versions with its various releases like.

1. Tally 4.5: It’s a Dos based Program used for Accounting Entries. It’s the first version or we can say starting of Tally History.
We have to Create Ledgers and Just have to make Journal Entries and other all works will be done automatically.
Like Maintaining Ledger Account’s Individually, Profit & Loss Account, Trial Balance and Most Important Balance Sheet.
It is the easiest way of Accounting and after this a revolution came in Accounting Profession.

It helps in maintaining the Account’s but there is one disadvantage that it can keep record of Inventory.
So for solving this problem a new version has been launched.

2. Tally 5.0: It’s an Dos based Program used for Accounting Entries and also maintaining
the Inventory. It’s the Second version of Tally.

But not for a long time it could be used only in dos and people are getting familiar with
Windows.

So soon a new version has been launched.

3. Tally 5.4: It’s a Window’s based Third Version of Tally.
It is Simple to use and having features of handling all ledger account along with Inventory.
It helped in keeping Account’s in simple way and automatically generates the Profit and Loss Accounts and Balance Sheet.
